Good Companions is a friendly Sunday rambling club based in Sheffield. We have a varied programme of walks of about 8- 10 miles each Sunday. We are always looking for new members to join us and also introduce new walks to us!

We’re lucky in Sheffield to have the Peak District on our doorstep – in fact 1/3rd of Sheffield’s area is in the Peak District – so we have great walks very close by. Our programme is varied and we try to walk in different areas, such as West Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and the Manchester area. We have previously organised walks that visited Lyme Park, Hodsock Priory, Sutton Scarsdale Hall and Thorpe Salvin.

Before walking with us ensure you are well prepared with walking boots, waterproof clothing and a good packed lunch. Nearly all our walks are by public transport so we really are open to all. We share cars a couple of times a year to get a bit further afield. Before coming on a ramble we advise you to check bus and train times as they may be subject to change by visiting

We like to think we are a friendly and welcoming club – so why not give us a try? You are quite welcome to join us a couple of times to see if you like us – and if you do decide to join our annual sub is just £ 10.00 per year.
